In the industrial zone of the Shardara district, a project is being implemented to build a complex for deep processing of corn. It is being built by Kazstarch LLP. The project consists of two stages.
The implementation of the first stage is planned for 2023-2024. It includes the construction of complexes for receiving, drying and storing corn. In the second stage (2024-2025), it is planned to build a plant for deep processing of corn. The facility will be commissioned in 2025.
The plant plans to receive and process 150 thousand tons of corn per year. It is expected that 26 products from corn grain will be produced here.
Note that in 2023, only about 3,000 tons of corn were accepted from Shardara and neighboring areas. This indicates an insufficient raw material base for the full launch of the plant. In the future, it is planned to increase corn fields in the Shardara, Zhetysai and Maktaaral regions.
